Coaching Staff
Coach Boerner - Head Coach  email

Coach Boerner has over 30 years of experience and accomplishments, most recently with Dad’s Club Swim Team.  Coach Boerner is an ASCA Level 5 Certified Coach, a member of the USA Swimming Board of Directors, and the USA Swimming Southern Zone Director.  He has extensive involvement with the national, state, and local swim committees to address and enhance vital local and international swimming issues. Coach Boerner will be responsible for the over-all direction of TTST which includes, but not limited to: coaching, creation and execution of dynamic swim programs, recruitment and retention strategies to increase team membership and insure financial stability.

Coach Boerner’s accomplishments include the development of swimmers: Olympic and World Trial Qualifiers, USA Senior National Qualifiers and Finalists, USA Swimming Junior Nationals Team Title, Qualifiers and Finalists, UIL High School State Record Holders and Champions, Texas Age Group (TAGS) Champions, USA Swimming National Age Group record holders and Top 16 Qualifiers, and Numerous USA Masters Swimming Championships and World Record Holders.

Coach Jason Harold - Head Age Group Coach  email

Coach Jason has been teaching swim lessons for 9 years and coaching all levels for 6 years. He is ASCA level 2 certified. Swimming has always played a big part in Coach Jason’s life. He has been a strong competitive swimmer from a young age through High School, where he performed extremely well. Here are just a few of the many goals Coach Jason has for the swimmers: to increase the love and knowledge of the sport, to provide a fun and challenging team atmosphere, to allow each swimmer to reach their individual potential. Coach Jason has produced numerous TAG’s, Gulf Championship, and Age group Championship swimmers, most recently a TAG’s Champion.

Candice Santillo - Age Group Coach  email

Coach Candice comes to us from the Steeplechase Stallions summer league NWAL swim team, where she was head coach for 3 years.  She has a successful track record with learn-to-swim, as well as competitive age group swimming programs.  Coach Candice has produced several age group swimmers for summer invitational meets.   As an athlete, Mrs. Santillo participated in the Ohio State (Buckeye) Masters Swimming program.  She was a Varsity Collegiate Swimmer with Division III NCAA Team at Denison University.   She earned four years Varsity Letter in Swimming at Ashland High School.  Coach Candice grew up participating in USS Swimming where she placed in the top eight for all USS meets.

Alex Knaute - Age Group Coach  email

Coach Alex started his coaching career as a swim instructor almost 2 decades ago, working with a variety of kids from 3 to 13 years old. After a few years as a swim instructor he progressed to becoming a swim coach.  During the summer NWAL Season, Alex has been the head coach of the Prestonwood Forest Flyers for the past 3 years.  Coach Alex has worked with other teams like he Wortham White sharks and was the Junior Varsity swim coach for the Cy-Woods High School Wildcats last year.  

Coach Alex looks forward to teaching / training the swimmers on the Texas Terrapins to not only appreciate the sport, but also appreciate it as a form of art.  He believes that through proper technique and form, swimmers can obtain great speed and elegance in the sport!

Coach Alex will be working in our Age-Group program with Coach Jason and Coach Candice.
